About Me

Background

What's up guys, this is Matthew Burns and welcome to your fourth tutorial...

Er, I guess I'm not doing a typical YouTube introduction here.  This is a little piece about me.

I am really passionate about knowing how things work and building things.  I have been since I was a little kid.  When I was younger, this creativity took the form of art projects; around the 7th grade, I took a week long summer course at a local university in LaCrosse, WI.  I was introduced to basic electronic concepts such as capacitors and split-rings in brushed motors.  I was fascinated by this and awed by all of the cool things that can be done with electronics.  With this, my passion and hobby was born.

I started out scraping circuits from the internet, making anything and everything that I thought was cool.  Some of these projects are posted under "Old Projects" on this website.

December 2018, I finished up at MIT with a degree in physics and a degree in electrical engineering.  After that, I started my new life in Lewisville, TX, and began my new job.

Since then I have been focusing on work, but have had time to get into numerical simulations, funky little IOT boards, and lately, I have been developing my own vector network analyzer!!  Check out some of my fun projects under the New Projects page.
